Editorial Note

The only mind that rests is a departed soul in heaven. Poked by the dwindling fortunes in education, the school of Business Education, Federal College of Education (Technical), Umunze, Anambra State, Nigeria, precisely, between 12th and 16th September 2011, held an international conference on the theme: Re-branding the Education System through Professional Ethics. It was not a surprise that over 300 papers were presented at the conference including lead papers from internationally acclaimed Professors. All papers were subjected to blind review and assessment and the successful few were published in these editions of International Journal of Professional Excellence. The major highlight of the journal was what seems to be an unanimous view of most contributors that Nigerian education needs to be reinvented to enhance its contribution to the ethos and values of the society. At this juncture, we quickly remind our numerous contributors and readers that the journals are not to supplant but to exist side by side with our premier publication “Journal of Business and General Education” (BUSGEN) which has been in circulation since 2007. Finally, the editorial board wishes to thank, in a special way, the Provost of the College, Professor J. O. Ogbuagu, mni, for facilitating the hosting of the inter.
